Sandra Lee Williams
Sandra Lee Williams is the Executive Director of the Atlanta North Georgia Labor Council, the Recording Secretary and Post Holder for the Cherokee County Georgia Democratic Party and the Parliamentarian for the Democratic Party of Georgia. Sandra is also on the Executive Board of the NAACP of Cherokee County Georgia and a Board Chair of Atlanta Jobs with Justice. Sandra is a board member of WorkSource Atlanta and WorkSource Georgia Mountains. Sandra is a member and former International Representative for the Retail, Wholesale, Department Store Union, Southeast Council.
Over the course of Sandra’s career she has worked for both public and private entities as a Human Resource executive that has always been a staunch advocate for black and brown people, leadership development and the fair, equitable access to opportunities for minorities and women in the workplace workplace.
A champion for racial justice, voting rights, workers rights and immigrant rights, Sandra coordinated political actions and immigration clinics that amplified and mobilized workers across the southeast region.
During the pandemic, Sandra established a food distribution program in conjunction with Margie’s House, a local food pantry in Southwest Fulton County Georgia with help from a grant that was the first of its kind from Fulton County. Sandra also works very closely with the United Way of Greater Atlanta to aid union families that are in need of various types of assistance. Sandra has coordinated routine COVID 19 testing and vaccinations through a partnership with CORE, Community Organized Relief Effort. In response to the indifference experienced by workers in Georgia at the hands of the Georgia Department of Labor, Sandra initiated union sponsored job fairs across the state. Sandra has initiated a steward training program for affiliated unions and is currently planning the first worker center in Georgia.
